Hi.. I've been taking topiramate 25mg 2x/day for quite some time prophylactically with no adverse side effects, and it helps to lessen the severity of my attacks when I have them. Because I still have them (and other types of migraine) my neurologist started me on Nurtec ODT 75mg (rimegepant) to take as soon as I feel an attack coming on or when it hits suddenly. This medication has been a game changer for me! Within about 30 minutes, I feel so much better, and sometimes the migraine is even gone!! I'm able to function!! Including driving! I haven't had any adverse effects from this med either. Some people are prescribed it daily as a prophylactic, but so far I just need it as a rescue med. It dissolves under the tongue and gers to work pretty quickly. I have dry mouth, so I always take a drink of water before hand so it has enough liquid to dissolve in. I recommend talking to your doctor about it if you haven't found anything yet that gives you satisfactory relief from your attacks so that you can at least tolerate them and function.
Be well!

The recommended dosage for immediate treatment of migraine episodes is 75 mg once daily as needed. The maximum dose of Nurtec ODT is 75 mg in a 24-hour period. You should not take more than 18 Nurtec ODT doses per month, since doctors don't know if doing so is safe.

Yes, my neurologist has instructed me on the proper dosage and how often to take it. Thankfully I don't feel the need to take it more often than the recommended protocol, but I'm sure glad and thankful I have it for when I do need it!
